Opening up my split-billing to my co-resident(s) or other people as well
Situation: You already have a split-billing account on the Wattify platform. Specifically, your employer has an agreement with Wattify whereby the charging sessions grouped with those of your colleagues are charged to the employer and you are paid by us via a reimbursement invoice.
Suppose you also want your partner or other people to charge at your charging station. Is this possible?
Yes, although there are 2 situations.
1) Your partner or co-habitant works for another employer that has nothing to do with your direct employer and is willing to become a direct customer of Wattify.
Specifically, then little or nothing should happen to your institutions. Your partner's employer sends us their billing information via support@wattify.be where we create a customer account in the employer's name. The employer can then add charge cards to the portal after the account has been activated. These charging cards can automatically charge at your existing charging station. The charging sessions made with the newly created charge card are only visible for the partner's employer and yourself as split-billing account. Wattify charges these separately per employer and these charging sessions are paid under the same conditions to the account entered in the split-billing account.
2) Your partner or co-habitant works for another employer unrelated to your direct employer and is NOT willing to become a direct customer of Wattify.
The only option in this case is to place your charging station semi-public. Where then "public" charging passes will be accepted at your charging station. Suppose your partner has a Shell or Total or other charging card, it will also function at your charging station, just as if you were going to charge at a public charging station. In this case, Wattify settles with the charge card issuer, who in turn settles with the employer of the charge card in question. Wattify charges exactly the same price to whichever party it bills, however, the charge card issuer may have other agreements with the employer and takes a margin on these sessions as well.
What needs to be done for this? We need to place your charge point semi-public. To do this requires some checks that we do internally before publishing your charge point. Be sure to send us an email if you wish and we will do this as soon as possible.
Additional note on this. We are required to "publish" your charge point. This means that we pass it on to all charge card issuers we have an agreement with, albeit with the notification that it should not actually be included for publication in their apps and such. However, practice tells us that not every charge card issuer processes all this information correctly. If you do notice this and do not wish to be visible on third-party apps, please contact the relevant charge card issuer. Please know that Wattify cannot make adjustments to third-party apps.
